Looking back in history: Auburn, Cimo chase sixth state title

Coach Matt Cimo has taken Auburn High School’s baseball team to a new level since arriving in 1993.

Prior to Cimo’s arrival, Auburn High had only made it to the state tournament Final Four three times, bringing home only one state title. Since Cimo took over as Auburn’s coach, the team has won four state championships and has reached the Final Four 10 times. Cimo and the Tigers will look to win a sixth state championship this season.

Auburn High is ranked inside the top 30 among all teams in the state by MaxPreps and is a top-10 team in the state according to ITG Next.
